Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where are you located?

River & Eve flora is based in Sydney, NSW.

I coordinate flowers for couples getting married all across Sydney as well as in the Southern Highlands, South Coast and Blue Mountains, NSW. However, we are available for floral design all across Australia for the right couple!

2. How far in advance do I need to book?

On average, couples book anywhere between 6-12 months out from their wedding day. Shorter time frames are possible, however I may have fewer dates available by then! To secure your date, a 25% deposit is required. After your deposit is paid, changes can (and most likely will) be made. Finer details are usually confirmed around 2 weeks prior to your event.

3. Do you have wedding packages?

Nope everything is customised! Just as every client is unique, so is every event we curate. Each couple is so unique and I want to ensure that each wedding I take on is created for that couple and their love story + I love getting to know you via emails, phone calls and onsite visits before the big day. However, I have made this general price guide to help you understand what your budget can achieve. Find it here!

4. What should I expect to spend on wedding flowers?

Most of our couples spend between $3500 – $8000 on their wedding flowers. Spending less or more on this average all depends on if you want florals to be a significant component of the experience for the day. Please keep in mind that these costs factor in one-on-one consultations, bespoke conception of designs, hire of vases, set-up, delivery and pack down services. Prices can be affected by the flowers you have your heart set on, the location of your event and the scale/logistics of certain designs. I have made this general price guide to help you understand what your budget can achieve. Find it here!

5. Can you work within my budget?

From my perspective, I am super excited to work with couples regardless of their budget. I have no minimum spend and am always happy to provide suggestions on where the money is best spent, where to get ‘the most bang for your buck’ at your venue and how to make the greatest impact on the day. As a good rule of thumb, I suggest your floral budget account for 10-15% of your overall wedding budget. If, on the other hand, you are looking for Pinterest-worthy, abundant design, I would suggest allocating 20-25% of your total wedding budget.

6. I have no idea what designs or flowers I want. Can you help?

Yes, yes, yes! You don't have to know anything! I understand that not everyone spends their time reading about flowers and studying colour palettes.  Collaboration, communication and creative thinking are principals I invest in with my clients and I can talk you through ideas and help you understand what vibe you would enjoy most. You can trust River & Eve flora to simply create magic for your day. 7. What sustainable practices do you have in place?

River & Eve flora is passionate about eco-friendly events. We are quickly moving towards eliminating the use of 'floral foam'. Currently, about 80% of the work is created using eco-friendly mechanics.  Therefore we are preventing dangerous micro plastics from entering ecosystems, and stopping your exposure to them. During the designing process, plastics are separated from green waste, and disposed of correctly. Along with organically growing a range of specialty flowers in our micro-farm, we buy flowers and foliage mainly from local farmers. I also compost all the botanicals after your event, and use this compost in the garden to feed the new plants!

8. Do you do site visits?

Sure do. Depending on the scale of weddings, I will gladly meet you at your chosen venue to discuss design concepts.

9. Do you have an extra charge for set up & pack down of florals?

Yes. We charge for our time on site as well as bumping out that night or the following day. Midnight bump outs + Saturday and Sunday staff rates are applicable to everyone. When you secure a wedding florist you are not just paying for flowers; you are paying for a professionals time, knowledge and expertise - just like any other special trade!

10.  Do you work with stylists and co-ordinators?

Absolutely! I can work closely with them to create a vision unique to you. However I do love interacting and meeting with my couples as well, as that's how I can create truly authentic botanical designs.

11. What time will you arrive to deliver the bouquets and set everything up?

River & Eve will liaise with you closer to your special day to ensure all drop off addresses are on file and chat with you regarding preferred bridal party delivery times. I usually deliver the bouquets first!

12. How much is the deposit and when is it due?

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total of the invoice is required to secure River & Eve's services for the date of your event.  The remainder of the deposit is paid 2 weeks prior to the event.
